Eligibility:

Domestic Candidates

1. Graduates in the 10 + 2 + 3 stream in any discipline, from any University, recognized by Association of Indian Universities, with a minimum of 50% marks, in the qualifying Degree examination. Those awaiting results of their final year Degree examinations may also apply provided they can submit the proof of graduation, by 30th September, 2008 and satisfy the minimum 50% criteria.

2. Appearance in CAT-2007 / XAT-2008 / IIFT-2007 / MAT- (2nd September 2007 or 2nd December 2007 or 3rd February 2008) / GET-2008 / latest GMAT Entrance tests.

Foreign / NRI Candidates

Foreign / NRI candidates, fulfilling the educational eligibility criteria and appearance in the specified entrance tests, as mentioned for the domestic candidates, can also apply to this Programme.

Schedule of Entrance Tests

GET-2008

Candidates can appear in GITAM INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS Entrance Test (GET-08) to be held at Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi on 16th March 2008, by paying an additional amount of Rs 500 by Demand Draft.

Procedure to Apply

GITAM INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS Brochure (including application form) will be available from 26th September, 2007 onwards.

1. The Application Form and Brochure can be obtained in person at GITAM INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS, Visakhapatnam or select centers of IMS in India, by paying Rs 1000/- in cash.
2. The Application Form and Brochure can be obtained by Post from GITAM INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS by sending a DD for Rs 1000/-.
3. The Application Form can also be downloaded from the Institute’s website and submitted, duly filled-in, with a DD of Rs 1,000/- or Rs 1500/-(inclusive of GET-2008 fee).
4. The candidates who wish to apply for GET-08 should send a DD for Rs 500/- along with the duly filled in application.
5. Candidates, who have appeared in more than one entrance test, may apply with all the regn. numbers / score cards in a single application.

Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of "GITAM INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS", payable at Visakhapatnam.

Dully filled in Applications have to reach GITAM INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS on or before the last date with the following enclosures:

1. Two self addressed envelopes
2. Photostat copies of Marks statements and pass certificates
3. Photostat copies of Score Card/Admit Card of the Entrance Test
4. Demand Draft in the case of candidates applying for GET-08 and those using downloaded application.

Last Date for Receiving Filled in Applications

The Institute shall not be responsible for any misplacement in transit or delays due to Postal / Courier service.

Rejection of Applications

Applications will be rejected on the following grounds

1. Applications received beyond the specified due date
2. Incomplete applications
3. Applications received without the necessary Registration Numbers legibly mentioned
4. Applications received without all the necessary enclosures as specified above
5. Downloaded applications received without necessary enclosures and without the Application Fee of Rs 1000/-

Selection Process for all Candidates (Including NRI / Foreign Candidates)

Applicants are short-listed on the basis of CAT (18th November 2007)/ IIFT (25th November 2007) / XAT (6th January 2008) / MAT (2nd September 2007 or 2nd December 2007 or 3rd February 2008) / GET-08 (16th March 2008) / GMAT Test scores for Essay Writing, Case Analysis, Group Discussion & Personal interview.

Final selection is based on aggregate of the best Test Score, and scores in Essay Writing, Case Analysis, GD and PI.

Applicants are screened and shortlisted on the basis of their CAT/XAT/IIFT/MAT/GMAT/GET scores, to appear in Essay Writing, Case Analysis, Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI), conducted by GITAM INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS.

Subsequent to the initial screening of candidates based on the specified written test scores, final selection is based on aggregate of the best Test Score, and scores in Essay Writing, Case Analysis, GD and PI. On selection, the candidate would be considered as provisionally selected for admission into the said Programme.

Preference would be given to candidates with 1-2 years of post-degree work experience and graduates in Engineering, Computers, Pharmacy, Agri Sciences, Bio-technology.

GD and PI are likely to be held during March 2008 at Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Visakhapatnam, and Bhubaneswar. The Institute reserves the right to include or delete GD/PI centres.

Completion of Admission Process

The candidate provisionally selected for admission into the said Programme, shall be considered as finally selected for admission only when the following conditions are fulfilled

1. The candidate has paid the commitment Fee and the 1st Term Fee on or before the specified dates. (The total fee is Rs 2 lakhs per annum. Hostel and boarding charges extra).
2. The candidate has submitted all the certificates in original, substantiating his/her candidature as per the eligibility criteria specified by the Institute for the said programme, at the time of Registration.
