Social Responsibility
GITAM INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS prepared the Visakhapatnam Development Report, the first ever district-level development report. The Report, brought out in 2003, focused on empowerment of people through basic health and education, infrastructure for attracting investments, etc. A follow-up project with a specific theme like employment or exports is being planned.
GITAM INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS is active in social welfare activities and conducted programmes like cleaning of the beach, cleaning of the railway station etc. A programme called Taru- Bandhan (tying raakhies to trees) was organised for creating awareness to protect the environment.
GITAM INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS has plans to introduce social projects as mandatory requirement for students for completing the Programme.GITAM INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS will continue to undertake projects and activities with a social focus. |
